Arthur A. Rubin, MD
Dr. Arthur A. Rubin, a New Jersey native, attended the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Georgetown Medical School and then studied psychiatry for 18 months at Georgetown University Hospital before going on to an internal medicine residency. After becoming board-certified, Dr. Rubin worked for a California HMO as an internal medicine consultant. Being an Easterner at heart, Dr. Rubin returned to Virginia and opened an internal medicine practice in 1978. He and Dr. Major became associates and moved to our Arlington location in 1983. Dr. Rubin has been President of the Virginia Society of Internal Medicine and the Northern Virginia Academy of Medicine and a former board member of the Medical Society of Virginia Peer Review Organization. Dr. Rubin has been an advisor, speaker and consultant to Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Plans, HCFA seminars, and hospital systems on issues of quality care and utilization of medical services. He was a founder and medical director of NCPPO, a local health plan. In 1999 Dr. Rubin was part of a team of consultants sent to Hungary by US AID to speak on medical issues concerning the privatization of health care. Dr. Rubin is married to Beth York, a lawyer specializing in estates and trusts planning, and has two daughters, Margaret and Amy. Dr. Rubin resides in McLean.

Mary Jane Major, MD
Dr. Mary Jane Major is a board-certified internist. She was born in Connecticut and attended Barnard College in New York City and Albany Medical College. Dr. Major completed her training in internal medicine at George Washington University and practiced at the Falls Church Medical Center for three years until she ran into Dr. Rubin, and it's been downhill (or uphill?) ever since. She has two children, Jeffrey and Lindsey, and resides in Arlington.

Nina Selvaggi, MD
Dr. Nina Selvaggi is an endocrinologist and board-certified internist, and practices both. Born and raised in New York City, she graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She spent several years on the McGill faculty as a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology prior to moving to the Washington area in 1989. Her many interests include marine biology, languages, and the performing and fine arts. She has no regrets at all about having left Montreal's invigorating cold for Washington's "balmy" weather. Dr. Selvaggi joined our practice in January 1989.

Dr. Selvaggi also speaks fluent French.

Gary R. Fender, MD
Dr. Gary R. Fender joined our group in October 1990. He grew up in northern New Jersey and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Boston University. He attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School, graduating in 1979. He remained in the Washington area after completing his postgraduate training in internal medicine at George Washington University. Dr. Fender was board-certified in internal medicine in 1982 and has practiced in Northern Virginia since July 1982, first in affiliation with the Anderson Clinic in Arlington and after September 1984 with another medical group in Arlington and Springfield. He has a special interest in preventive medicine.

Ellen M. Jenkins, MD
Dr. Ellen Jenkins is a board-certified internist and rheumatologist, and practices both. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William and Mary. She attended the Medical College of Virginia where she met her husband, Jim. The couple moved to Augusta, Georgia, where Dr. Jenkins completed her internal medicine training at the Medical College of Georgia in 1988. While her husband fulfilled his Army obligations in Germany, Dr. Jenkins worked for the Army as an internist. She then returned home to the Washington area to complete her rheumatology training at George Washington University. She has two sons, Billy and Sean, and lives in Vienna. Dr. Jenkins joined our group in 1994.

Kenneth J. Lin, MD
Dr. Kenneth Lin is a board-certified internist. He was born in New York City and grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia and the Medical College of Virginia, and completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He and his wife Sharon reside in McLean and enjoy skiing, hiking, and music. Dr. Lin joined our group in September 1996.

Richard W. Chen, MD
Dr. Richard Chen is a board-certified internist. He was born in Tokyo, Japan, and grew up between Kentucky, Rhode Island, and Staten Island, NY. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College, and completed his internal medicine training at the University of Maryland. After residency, he traveled for 2 years working locum tenens. He is married to Dr. Cecilia Young, also an internist, and they live in Vienna with their sons Christopher, Nicholas, and Jeremy. Dr. Chen joined our group in July 1997.

Brickte L. DeBass, MD
Dr. Brickte DeBass is a board-certified internist. She grew up in College Park, Maryland, and received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Maryland. She then moved north to tranquil and chocolaty Hershey, PA, where she completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Penn State University Medical Center. Dr. DeBass then moved to Arlington where she worked at Internal Medicine Associates before joining our practice in August 2001. She enjoys arts and crafts, movies, and new restaurants.

Ellie H. Min, MD
Dr. Ellie Min joined GIMG in September 2002. She is a board certified internist and was in practice for 5 years at Lahey Beverly associated with the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts. Born in South Korea, Dr. Min grew up both there and in the greater DC area, and attended George Washington University for both her undergraduate education and medical school. She then trained at the George Washington University Medical Center and was Chief Resident for a year upon completion. Her interests include attending concerts, running, skiing, and baseball.

Anjali Goyal, MD
Dr. Goyal is a board certified internist who joined our practice in June 2003. She grew up and received her medical education in India and completed her residency training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. She joined the faculty there for 2 years and was the Assistant Director of the Breast Cancer Screening Clinic. She subsequently joined a large multispecialty group in Chicago and continued her interest in Women's Health by working as Team Leader to set up a Breast Health Program for the group's practices. Dr. Goyal has a special interest in Women's Health.

L. Kenneth Zweig, MD
Dr. Kenneth Zweig grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and attended college at the University of Michigan. He briefly worked as a consultant in the world of business before returning to school at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Zweig completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University, where he remained for an additional year to act as Chief Resident. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor with Georgetown University Medical School, and remains active in teaching residents and students. He has a special interest in hypertension, and is board-certified. During his free time, he enjoys hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and spending time with his wife, Wendy.

Emily Chin, DO
Dr. Emily Chin was born on Long Island, NY. She attended Johns Hopkins University for both undergraduate and graduate degrees and worked for several years as a computer programmer. She then changed careers, receiving her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University, and then completing her residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. She is board certified and has been in practice since 1999, having worked in Illinois, New Hampshire, and Baltimore prior to joining our practice in September 2007. In her spare time, she volunteers on behalf of the homeless, knits; and tries to convince her niece in New Zealand that a biscuit is really a cookie, and a jumper is a sweater.

Jenora Jolly, MD
Dr. Jenora Jolly is a board-certified internist. She grew up in Seattle, WA, and attended Stanford University for her undergraduate degree, then University of Washington School of Medicine.  She completed her residency training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.  She had practiced with a large multi-specialty group in that area from 1996 until moving to Virginia in 2007.  During her free time she enjoys bicycling, skiing, fly-fishing, art and spending time with her husband, Tom.

Navreet Kallar, MD, MPH new
Navreet Kallar is a board certified internist. Dr. Kallar received her medical and master's in public health degrees at the Medical College of Virginia after completing her undergraduate degree in sports medicine at the University of Virginia. She completed her residency training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has been in practice since 2002, most recently in Richmond, Virginia, before joining GIMG in August 2008. She has a special interest in cholesterol management, hypertension and preventive medicine.

Candice Driscoll, PA-C
Candice Driscoll joined GIMG October 2006. She grew up in Jacksonville, FL, and graduated from the University of Miami. She then moved to New Hampshire and attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where she received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She returned home to Florida and practiced at an internal medicine group for a year before getting married and moving to Virginia with her husband.

Ms. Driscoll also speaks fluent Spanish.

Reade Bush, PA-C
Reade Bush is a lifelong Northern Virginia resident.  Previously a newspaper reporter, his medical career started early on as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician in 1989, later becoming a paramedic. He received his BA from the College of William and Mary in 1992. He was as a consultant for 5 years to local governments on fire and EMS organization, and subsequently was an emergency room technician for another 5 years. He received a Masters degree from the George Washington University Physician Assistant Program in 2004 and worked in that hospital's Emergency Department since then until joining GIMG in Februrary 2008.

Kathleen Rodgers, M.A., R.D., C.D.E.
Kathleen Rodgers has a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator. Her specialties include diabetic education, nutrition counseling, and fitness training. She has over ten years of experience in the field of wellness and has worked with a wide variety of clients, including professional sports teams. Her specialized training allows her to prescribe both exercise and dietary regimens. Her wide knowledge of diabetes problems and solutions makes her a valuable resource for diabetics and their families.

If you are a diabetic and are measuring your blood sugars, please bring your blood sugar logbook to all appointments with Ms. Rodgers. All patients should bring a "food diary" of all items eating on three days during the week before the appointment. Come prepared with any questions you may have regarding testing blood sugars, timing of medications, meals, snacks, or any other issues pertaining to diabetes life issues. A spouse, partner, or other family member is always welcome and may be very useful.

Initial consultations are 55 minutes long and follow up appointments are 25 minutes. The fee schedule is as follows:

Initial Consult: $100.00
Follow-up visit: $55.00

Payment is expected at time of the visit. If you are unable to keep your appointment, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a late cancellation fee. (Late cancellation fees are $50.00 for an initial appointment and $25.00 for a follow-up).

Medicare Patients are not covered for services rendered by Kathy Rodgers and are responsible for payment.
